On 30 November, 2025, Snowtide Informatics concluded an agreement with Auslegungsmaschinenhaus GmbH ("AMH") whereby all of Snowtide's assets and contractual responsibilities would be acquired by AMH, effective 1 January 2026.
As a Snowtide customer or partner, you are probably suddenly concerned that this news means that your own business or your experience with Snowtide products and services is going to be negatively impacted. Here, I hope to reassure you that this development can only be a good thing: aside from now being based in Berlin (as opposed to Massachusetts), the Snowtide business and our products will only improve, compared to what you've come to expect over the last 20 years .
Why has AMH acquired Snowtide's business?
AMH has developed a set of very exciting PDF and document-management technologies over the last couple years. The objective is to combine the AMH and Snowtide tech to deliver really compelling new capabilities.
What does this mean for Snowtide customers?
Aside from the release of new products and services, your day-to-day interaction with AMH will look and feel as if nothing has changed:
- Your points of contact will not change: everyone from Snowtide will become employees of AMH, and continue in their existing roles.
- AMH will continue to use the "Snowtide" and "PDFxStream" brands, and snowtide.com will continue to service that product line (being the nexus for email and chat communications, where software artifacts are hosted, and so on).
- All existing quotes and prices will be honored for a full year, through the end of at least 2026.
- Customers in the Eurozone will be migrated to Euro-denominated billing. Customers in other geographies will continue to be billed in U.S. Dollars.
- Being a German company, AMH's data protection and privacy practices are subject to EU law, so your and your customers' data will continue to be safe.
- You will get preferential treatment when it comes to access and pricing on AMH's forthcoming products and services.
All Snowtide-related legal and financial operations will be migrating to AMH, something that we are committed to making as seamless as possible. In the coming weeks, our team will reach out with a 'Vendor Transition Kit' containing our new banking details, updated tax identifiers, and any necessary updated corporate documentation.
Thank you!
I hope this letter helps to quash any concerns you might have. If you have any questions or other concerns that weren't covered here, please get in touch and we'll be happy to talk through them with you.
